Experimental Teas

I'm sitting at my kitchen table right now, sipping a cup of tea. But it isn't just ordinary tea. It's... alright, well, I have no idea what kind of tea it is. All I know is that I need to add less sugar and maybe use milk instead of whipping cream. Let me explain.
Alright, so I was using my computer, but I got pretty bored. Then, I decided to have some tea. After that one cup of tea, I wondered - I once had a tea latte called London Fog, so I searched up the recipe. Too bad I didn't actually have any Earl Grey tea, so instead I started thinking... why not make my own tea recipe! Okay... I admit, it was a very spontaneous and very bad idea. But, in my defense, I was bored. So, I brewed some chamomile, rose petal and a bunch of other herbs tea. Added two sugar cubes because I accidentally steeped it for too long and then added a bit of whipping cream. Why whipping cream? Well... I didn't actually have any normal cream.
     The result?
Way, way, waaayyyyyyyyy too sweet. I guess I'll just try again.

Adam Sevani a.k.a. Moose

If you've watched Step Up 2/3, then you'll know who Moose is. There's this totally cool clip of Moose dancing in Step Up 3 during the Battle of Gwai. Check it out:

Isn't he totally awesome and cute? Don't you love how he dances in water? Umm... kay, so I've got a teeny-tiny crush on him, but that's not important....

Happy 31st B-day Harry Potter!

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Harry!
Happy Birthday to you....!

That's right - it's Harry Potter's 31st B-day! Yay! For those of you who are wondering, his birthday is July 31, 1980. So, for his birthday I was supposed to buy cheesecake but I sort of forgot (sorry Harry!) so instead we're sticking candles in muffins. Chocolate chip/banana muffins/Mixed berry muffins. Yummy. Umm... I'm going to watch a Harry Potter movie and I'm going to read the first book all over again (for the sixth or so time). I'll probably play Harry Potter Scene It.... though no one wants to play with me. Nobody else in the house actually knows a lot about Harry Potter. I would have bought a gift for him... if, you know, he was real and I could send it to him.

As you can see, I'm a huge... no, ginormous fan.... no, humongous... no, tremendous... no, hugimondous fan of Harry Potter's. There's no word in the world to describe it.

Anyways.... remember to wish Harry Potter Happy B-day today!

Harry Potter Forever!

Barbie

Kay, so I don't really like Barbie, it's just that I do have some fond memories of Barbie dolls and movies. But they've done something horrible to Barbie. All of a sudden, she's shallow and the plots are so.... shallow and underdevelopped. What happened to Swan Lake and The Nutcracker? Barbie even has a new face which is pretty ugly.

Compare:

Compared to:

So, it's not that ugly, but she looks so material girl. The old barbie was sweet. I am forbidding my sister to watch these new barbie movies. Instead I'm forcing her to watch old movies. What's happening to this world?

Nicki Minaj = Awesome-ness!

Isn't Nicki Minaj awesome? I mean, seriously, do you hear the way she raps? Totally unique, slightly weird but catchy all the same. I am proud to say that I can rap one of her songs - 'Super Bass'. It's my fav song at the moment. Check it out :

If I get enough comments and pageviews (that means above ten) I'll post a video of me rapping Super Bass. :D

Autumn's Concerto

So sorry for not posting earlier. Anyways....

One thing you probably don't know about me is that I'm in love with Taiwanese dramas. Especially this one drama called Autumn's Concerto. It's so.... dramatic (duh!) and it made me cry a lot. Those are the best dramas. Where you cry and laugh all through out the show. But I also loved the characters (Van Ness is so cute and Ady An's really pretty). OH, and you can't forget Xiao Le, their adorable son. If you ever get a chance, you should definitely watch it.

Drowning in You

I am an avid writer. Probably not very good at it, but it's a hobby. Well, I entered into this writing contest and this is what I submitted.

Drowning in You
Soft, rich grass tickled my bare feet and a cool breeze weaved its way through my hair. The sun shone brightly, making the bubbling stream sparkle. Huge, bowing branches rippled the waters surface from the old willow tree that stood next to the stream. I heard a bird chirping somewhere in the distance, a sweet lullaby of tweet-tweets. This couldn’t possibly get better, which is probably why it got worse.
Then you appeared, Max Fields, and I felt that familiar squeeze in my chest. I felt the urge to run into your arms, but no matter how hard I tried my legs wouldn’t move.
“Come with me, Ro.” You said with your faint Texan accent. “Don’t you want to stay with me?”
“Of course I do. You know I do.” I tried to say, but the words got caught in my throat.
“Don’t you love me?’ You asked, but I couldn’t respond.
“I love you. I love you. I love you.”
No matter how hard I tried, it wasn’t coming out. I hoped that you could see the desperation in my eyes. Maybe you could, but you still pouted slightly. You knew how I hated it when you pouted because I felt like it was always my fault. My fault… all my fault. The words kept ringing in my head, pounding into my brain until I felt numb all over.
My fault, my fault, my fault, my fault….

I awoke to a strange beeping sound. My eyes shot open. Was I late? No, I couldn’t be. It was still midnight. With a low groan, I got out of bed. Nothing could make me fall asleep again. A frown appeared on my normally smiling lips. Nowadays, they rarely smiled.
My fault, my fault, my fault….
Slipping a cozy sweater on, I softly walked to my kitchen. Opening my door, I lit all the lights in the dark hallway. Call it my personal pet peeve. The light was already on in the kitchen. I frowned again. Eco-friendly… that was me. I couldn’t stand it if I left a single light on. I almost laughed at the irony.
Pouring myself a cold glass of H2O, I pondered the meaning of my dream. It had been a while since he had appeared to me in my dreams. At first it was torture, but it soon became a drug to me. I couldn’t wait to go to sleep just to see your face. Was that selfish of me?
I heard something creeping up on me. The hairs on my neck stood up and goose bumps appeared on my arms where I rolled my sleeves up. Placing the glass down, I hurried to my room. This is what you did to me. Would you come back to haunt me for what I did to you? The question always raced through my mind.
Jumping into bed, I didn’t even bother to turn all the lights off.

The handsome waiter placed our two cups in front of us. My friend, Alice Montgomery’s preference was a cappuccino. Me – I liked a cup of really strong black coffee. Alice winked at him and he returned a smile. She giggled, but I couldn’t help but think of last night.
“I dreamt of him last night.” I confessed sheepishly, sipping my cup of coffee.
She didn’t need any clarification. Immediately jumping onto my case, she set her cup down. A few drops splashed onto the pristine white tablecloth. I stared at them.
“Ro.” She said, with a hint of protectiveness. “What have I told you before?”
I sighed and rolled my eyes. The one thing I didn’t need was a lecture.
“Don’t you understand? You have to move on!” She cried in exasperation. “Ro, are you listening to me?”
“Alright.” I whispered quietly, intending to do just that. “You don’t have to yell.”
“Rosalie Charlesworth, you’re one of the greatest mysteries known to man.” She stated.

Rummaging through my vanity and my drawers, I tried to identify anything that reminded me of you. On the bed was a growing pile of jewelry and clothes. Looking through my underwear drawer, I unearthed the one thing that I wished I could forget. Your smiling face looked up at me from the old news article. I could still make out that cut on your jaw from shaving. Tears clouded my eyes.
Carefully and slowly I carried that huge pile into my basement. When I successfully made it down the steps, I sighed in relief. All that time, I thought I was going to tumble down. Feeling for the switch, I felt a hand instead. With a scream, I jerked my hand back and jumped away. You materialized out of the wall.
“Please be a dream. Please be a dream.” I chanted to myself.
            You frowned.
“You don’t want me here?” You asked.
I continued chanting, as I closed my eyes and rocked back and forth. It became a mantra almost and I kept a steady beat by swinging back and forth.
“Ro, open your eyes and stop swinging around. I want to talk to you.”
I felt you come close enough for us to touch. Good. If I bumped into nothing when I swung forward, this hallucination would end. Only when I swung forward, your ready arms caught me.
“Just a dream.” I breathed out, my hand clutching your shirt for support.
“This isn’t a dream, Ro.” You replied, half amused and half disappointed.
“But you’re dead.” I said, jumping away from you.
Maybe I could have escaped if only I hadn’t tripped over something suspiciously furry. I landed on my back and it knocked all the air out of me. Trying to catch my breath, I crab walked away from you. You caught me and held me there.
            “Ro…”
“Don’t you dare give me that look Max. Just don’t. You’re dead and that’s that.” I muttered under my breath because I knew you would still hear me.
Kneeling down, you tilted my chin up so I could look at you.
“Please don’t forget me. Don’t put me in your basement to rot.” You begged. “I want to be with you.
“Why?” I demanded, my voice catching in my throat.
I wanted to cry, but I couldn’t be weak in front of you.
“The last time you said that, I walked out on you. You committed… suicide. Why do you want me?”
“No more questions Ro. Stay with me.” It sounded more like an order than a request.
I caved in and melted into your arms. Those warm inviting arms.
Hope you enjoyed!

My Speech

Guess what I dug up after searching through my computer. A speech I did in Gr. Six about Adolf Hitler. I didn't get chosen to go on, because the topic was too heavy for the younger audience and I spoke too fast... Damn! Anyways... here it is!

“All great movements are popular movements. They are the volcanic eruptions of human passions and emotions, stirred into activity by the ruthless Goddess of Distress or by the torch of the spoken word cast into the midst of people.” The man that spoke these words was right – great movements are the stirring of human emotions, flames that consume the world and fling it into turmoil. This man turned the world upside down. Mrs. Verhaeghe and my fellow classmates, this man is Adolf Hitler. In my speech, we experience his childhood, his adolescence, the Nazis and his death.
“Mankind has grown strong in eternal struggle and will only perish through eternal peace.” Once upon a time, Adolf was a little boy. He was born on April 20th, 1889 in a town close to the Austro-German boarder where his father worked. The Hitler family moved several times, to several villages around the town of Linz. Adolf attended school at age six, but did poorly. No doubt frustrated, he dropped out. But Adolf was ambitious – he left with dreams of becoming an artist. No, not to dominate the world or to eliminate all Jews, but to become an artist. His father died when Adolf was thirteen.
“Universal education is the most corroding and disintegrating poison that liberalism has ever invented for its own destruction.” Not only did Adolf not earn his keep, but he refused to receive an education. Despite his lack of education, Hitler developed a growing interest in history and politics. Little did he know that in the future, he would be an important part of both. But at the age of nineteen, reality set in. His mother dead, Adolf moved to Vienna to earn a living by taking odd jobs and selling paintings and posters. Even then, he had to resort to homeless shelters and soup kitchens. The life he took for granted was gone and in came the burden of hunger and filth. In the year 1914, after he moved to Munich, he was accepted into the German army. After fighting bravely in World War One, he was made a corporal. This alone was an honour, sugarcoated with the Iron Cross Second and First Class. Ironically, the Regiment Captain who recommended Hitler was Jewish.
“As a Christian, I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice.” It all began when he successfully executed the first Hofbrauhaus speech. He later organized a larger event where the name of the party was changed to National Socialist German Workers Party – the Nazis. Soon enough, Adolf formed a group of thugs he used to disrupt the meetings of opposing parties. These thugs became the S.A. As expected, Adolf became the leader of the Nazis.
“I believe that my conduct today is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.” Adolf continued to strengthen the Nazis, but his attack on the Bavarian government failed. Charged with treason, Hitler was sentenced five years in prison. Somehow, he used the trial to further broadcast his beliefs. He recounted these same beliefs to Rudolf Hess. Rudolf Hess later published a book about Adolf. Hitler only served six months in jail. Once out of prison, Adolf made it his priority to begin rebuilding the Nazis. The collapse of the Wall Street stock exchange hurt Germany, but proved beneficial to the Nazis. President Hindenburg was compelled to close the Reichstag and call for elections. It was the Nazi’s turn to shine, especially after gaining the approval of the army and industrialists. They soon became the second largest party. Hitler was reckless and decided to challenge Hindenburg in the presidential elections. However, Hindenburg was re-elected and Hitler… tossed to the curb. Now, I could go on and on, but here’s the important part; the Nazis struck terror everywhere. They became an epidemic of fear. After failing to take over by force, they used democratic means instead. It was an ambitious program of world domination that brought Germany and other northern European countries to power. Meanwhile, Jews, Slavs and other minorities were degraded. Under the influence of the Nazis, Germany became a dictatorship. All through the year 1933, the Nazis took over. Germany was a huge part of World War Two.
“Who says I am not under the special protection of God?” He spoke too soon. In fact, there are two theories concerning Hitler’s death; the first one being that Adolf committed suicide. In the year 1945 after marrying his companion, Eva Braun, Adolf shot himself in the head. Or did he? Evidence shows that perhaps it may have been one of Hitler’s body doubles. Either way, he’s dead.
Let’s face it, all of us have some bad and good in us. But what really matters is which path we choose to take, because it is our choices that make us who we are.

Hope you liked it!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

For me, it wasn't all that great. I mean, watching the Autobots and Deceptacons fight was friggin' awesome, but it got pretty boring at times. It was funny. I admit that I laughed. Truth is, I sort of missed Megan Fox, but the new actress was good. She was a blond version of Megan Fox. You know, sexy.... and yeah.
My dad and my bro enjoyed it, but the fight wasn't all that eventful to me. I've seen better, but then again, I probably fell asleep during the fight scene... so maybe it got interesting after awhile. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best for me.

STOP! and Smell the Books

I don't know if it's the same for you, but I'm obsessed with the smell of books. Is that weird? Not for me, it isn't. Every one of them has a different smell (books in the same series smell the same, obviously) and it's always so good. Sometimes, when I'm reading, I stop for a second and just sniff the pages.
Once, I was reading a book called 'Inkheart' and one of the characters, Mo, told his daughter that our memories cling to the pages of our books and I think that's true. Every time you open the book, you remember that little boy or girl you were when you first picked it up and opened the covers. Books are a truly wonderful invention. I don't know what I'd do without them.
One of my friends told me that she has this special bag and if there's ever a fire or emergency, she would dump all her books in there and run. Yes, they're that precious to her. And I have a duffel bag that serves the same purpose. I can't live without books.
So next time you open that book you read in sixth grade, stop and smell it for a moment. Or at least remember that younger version of you, sitting in the same bed, staring out that window and reading those same words.

Pressed Flowers

I love pressing flowers and petals in books. For some reason, it strikes me as very romantic. I'm pressing a Dazzler red in my Oscar Wilde book (hard-cover, special edition, has all his works.) And a pink/yellow rose petal in my Inkspell book. The roses in my backyard are huge and the yellow/pink ones look so beautiful. Just saying...
     Do you press flowers too?

Why, oh, why do you have to go?

I'm so sad! My bff is moving to Mississauga and I won't see her ever again. JK. I mean, she's moving, but I'm gonna be at her thirteenth b-day party. But, I'll still miss her like crazy. All through the year, I knew she was going to move, but I never really felt like it would happen. I thought that it would go away, or that it was one of those things that would never happen even though you keep talking about it. Then, she actually did move away and you realize it isn't just a bad dream.
I will miss you a lot, KeKe (I'm not going to use her real name for privacy issues.) When you leave, I'll be missing a very valuable friend.

Couch Forts

... are the best! I mean, they're perfect for playing games with little kids. I imagine we're gypsies, running away from evil villains that appear in books. Once I pretended me and my sis, Julia, were gypsies hunted down by an evil man named Capricorn (from 'Inkheart').

FACT: Couch Forts are fun for all ages from 1 yrs old to 122 yrs old.

Urrrgghhh....

I knew this was a bad idea. Since the laptop isn't working well, I had to transfer to the basement where my brother is currently playing X-Box. You know how annoying it is sitting in the same room with him? Absolutely annoying! It makes me want to tear this whole room apart. Ugh... I can't stand his yelling. My ears are burning and my heart is pounding. I would love to wrap my fingers around his skinny little neck and... oh well. Oh MY God! Would he just shut up with all those weirds sounds? He wouldn't be able to keep his voice down if someone put a gun to his head. Urrghh...
I hope he doesn't stay like this forever. I hope he grows mature and stops yelling all the time. People in China can probably hear him.
It doesn't help that I have a raging headache and a stuffy nose. I had to abandon the cozy comfort of my bed to watch over my little sister. sigh

Fever

I'm lying in bed right now, the laptop propped up on a board I put on my stomach. There's a damp cloth on my forehead and a nice, hot cup of tea beside me. My book is resting beside me, distracting me from my sore throat and itchy nose. I mean, who gets a cold in the middle of summer? Not many people. It's all my little sister and brother's fault. They kept on coughing and sneezing on me. Oh well...

Loser Like Me

This is my new theme song. LOL.

Me.I.

So, you all know my lil' sis from my previous post, Annoying Little Siblings. Well, I decided to make a blog for her, about her. I'm just starting it right now, but check it out here >>> http://www.meismisadventures.blogspot.com/

Cappuccino

My dad just made me a nice cup of cappuccino. Mmmm.... pure coffee bliss.

Annoying Little Siblings

If you're the first-born, then you know what I mean. Stealing your stuff, touching your makeup, telling on you and following you around are just some of the things our little siblings do to aggravate and infuriate us. Sometimes, we feel like locking them in a closet and just relaxing. Because, then, they're out of our hair. But we can't because we'd "feel bad about it" (get told on). Yet, that's what we have to deal with every day.
So today, I'm ranting about the most annoying siblings in the world. My siblings.

Last Day Of School!

Who isn't excited for the last day of school? Now that it's finally come and gone, I can barely wrap my mind around it. OMG, the school year is over! But I feel like it's a long weekend, rather than a whole two months of vacation time.
But, of course, I'm going to miss all my friends from school. Especially my one friend that's moving away and I'll never see her again. Yesterday was the last time she'd see most of the people in our class and the other class too. We're all going to miss her very much.
This year was also the last year that my teacher taught at our school. Next year, she'll be moving to another school to teach Grade Six french immersion. Because she's (one of) the best teacher I've ever had and our whole class is going to miss her, we decorated the board while she was away.

So how did your last day of school go? What are your plans for the summer?

Pottermore - Calling all Harry Potter fans!

If you're a Harry Potter fan like me, you've probably heard about Pottermore. It's an interactive website that J.K. Rowling opened for all Harry Potter fans to enjoy.

Picnics!

Doesn't everybody love picnics? It's such an enjoyable experience. As you all know, it's summer again (woohoo!) and its that time of year when everybody goes to picnics. It's the same for my family. So every Sunday, we're going to grab some take out or make our own food and head over to this park called Lowville. It's a really nice place..

Lonely Hearts

Have you ever gotten your heart broken by someone? Sometimes, it's good to have a little pick-me-up once in a while and in today's (second) post, Imma share a few tips with all of you.

'Lost' Star Marries 16 Year Old Singer

If you watch lost, then you'll probably recognize Doug Hutchison, 51, who played Dharma leader Horace Godspeed. If you're a fan of aspiring artists who haven't hit it big yet, you might recognize Courtney Stodden, 16. However, you might be surprised to know that these two are married. Yup, that's right. They're married.

The Most Delicious Drink In The World

Let the wonderful aroma of sweet chocolate drift up your nose, the taste touch your tongue and warmth engulf your body. Your tongue darts out to reach for those yummy marshmallows and as you quietly sip your cup of hot choco, you feel like you're in paradise.

They Haven't Learned Their Lesson

Everyone knows how Princess Diana, royal superstar, died. Chased down by paparazzi in the streets of Paris, her car crashed. You would think that they would be more cautious, but what about that incident with Justin and Selena?

Beating Kids: Bad... or Good???

Alright, we all know that abuse is a very bad thing. It's inhumane, horrible and it's illegal. But it seems like some of my white or non-asian friends can't separate abuse from discipline. There is a difference!

New Wonder Woman Show

If you're a geek like me or you just love all things Superman and whatnot, you probably heard about the new Wonder Woman show. I saw a brief sneak peek of the pilot on this site called kevinism and you should go check it out first, before reading the rest of this post.

Why should women get periods?

The title says it all. I mean, seriously, why? It's so unfair. The cramps, the pain, the crankiness... blah, blah, blah. Worse yet, the whole world seems to be turned against you or you're getting super emotional. I mean, what's up with that? Yeah, I get the scientific reason (or whatever you call it). I went to school. But why!!!???

"Reaching Dawn" by: Mi and Ming (An original)

Hey everybody! I was just talking to my friend today and she told me that she wrote a an original song with my other friend. Because I'm caring and supportive (psshh, yeah right) I decided to post it on my blog. As you can see, they're really good. I hope you'll like it too. The song is called 'Reaching Dawn'.

I Just OD'd.... on Coffee

It's 11:22 PM right now, but sleep eludes me. I'm not stressed, there's nothing important on my mind... so what's going on? If you remember your first time drinking coffee and loving it despite the bitterness you'll know what I mean. If this is happening to you at the moment... Well, you just OD'd on coffee.

Headlines!

I just thought you should know that at the bottom of the page, there are news headlines form Google and Apple and one more that I can't remember. I haven't yet read any of the stories behind them, but you should check it out.

Lady Gaga "Judas" Controversy

Ever since Lady Gaga came out with her song "Judas", people have been offended by the lyrics. Are you one of those people, or do you disagree with them?
